FCE – The First Certificate in English

The Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE) is an upper-intermediate examination for learners of English. At this level, learners can expect to be able to work or study in an English speaking environment and cope easily as a tourist in an English speaking country.
Many employers around the world recognize FCE as proof of the holder’s ability to work in a variety of jobs that involve using English, including secretarial, clerical or managerial positions and jobs that involve public contact in banking, catering, etc.

CAE – Certificate in Advanced English

The Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) is an advanced level examination for learners of English.  At this level learners can be expected to cope confidently in most situations that would arise in an English speaking country – socially, professionally and in higher education. CAE is accepted by almost all universities and colleges in Britain and many others throughout the world as proof that an individual has reached a level of English suitable for entry to courses of higher education.

CPE – Certificate of Proficiency in English

The Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English is a high level examination for learners of English. At this stage, learners are approaching a standard of English similar to that of an educated native speaker, and they can be expected to cope in nearly all situations in an English speaking environment. CPE is accepted by almost all universities and colleges in the world as proof that the learner has reached a level of English suitable for entry to courses of higher education or post-graduate study.
